With over 30 years experience in office equipment and consumables, we decided to dedicate our efforts to create a recycling scheme for London businesses to dispose of unwanted products. Our scheme is not just to recycle but also repurpose any usable items and get them back to work.
A major part of our business model is to repurpose good working equipment. As we deal with many schools and educational facilities, we have been able to put machines back to work in various establishments across the UK. Computers and printers that once worked in London offices find new homes in schools, colleges and nurseries.
We are licensed to carry and store waste IT and consumables, as well as a full license to remanufacture or refurbish consumables. This is a major contributor to our recycling program stopping toner and ink cartridges going to landfill. Licenses are:
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) stands at the forefront of safeguarding individual privacy in the digital age. Enforced across the European Union, the GDPR empowers individuals by granting them greater control over their personal data. It mandates organizations to handle personal information responsibly, ensuring transparency, security, and accountability in data processing practices. Compliance with GDPR is not just a legal requirement but a commitment to respecting user rights, fostering trust, and elevating data protection standards. As a comprehensive framework, GDPR sets the stage for ethical and secure data management, shaping a landscape where individuals and organizations can coexist in the digital realm with confidence and respect for privacy
In our commitment to environmental sustainability, London Office Recycle has proudly partnered with Ecologi.com. For every collection of used IT and telecoms equipment, we plant trees through Ecologi's impactful reforestation projects. This partnership not only ensures responsible disposal of electronic waste but also contributes to the global effort in combating deforestation and climate change. It's our way of giving back to the planet, promoting a healthier environment, and aligning our operations with a greener, more sustainable future.
Under WEEE guidelines laser toner consumables containing toner powder are classed as hazardous waste. That means you must recycle them properly. The typical used toner cartridge weighs about 1.4kg and is composed of 40% plastic, 40% metal, and smaller percentages of rubber, paper, foam, and toner. These materials can be easily recycled and have a large amount of uses.
However, recycling isn't the only option for depleted cartridges. They can be sent for remanufacturing or refilling. This saves a huge amount of manufacturing costs, wastage and pollution that comes with throwing out old cartridges. Considering that each cartridge can last 4 remanufactures, a huge amount of surplus resources are waiting to be claimed, as well as tonnes of atmospheric CO2 that will no longer be released.
Remanufactured Cartridges don't even void your printer warranty
